Weighing under 4.5kgs the flywheel is designed to increase overall engine throttle response, by reducing inertia allowing power to reach the wheels quickly and more efficiently
This simple but effective component can be used with a standard or the AP Racing clutch with no change to the engine idle speed or driveability making it an ideal choice for every day road use and track use and is a direct replacement for the original equipment flywheel. Other advantages of this flywheel are quicker engine breaking and smoother gearchanges.
Reducing the inertia is achieved by installing holes around the outer circumference of the flywheel and removing unnecessary material from the outer surfaces, making it thinner in construction and because of the excellent strength to weight ratio it is still stronger than original equipment flywheels. During the manufacturing process the flywheel is dynamically balanced allowing it to rotate smoother and reducing additional engine wear.
The Flywheel is manufactured from Hi-Tensile Chrome Moly Steel, that is stronger than both EN8 and EN24. Other properties of this material include corrosion, oxidation and heat resistance and because this it does not need to be chemically blacked.
